Job Description & Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safety and security of Universal Orlando’s guests, employees, and company assets.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures the safety and security of all guests and employees by
performing a variety of roles including walking patrols, motorized
patrols, and occupying various access control points. Utilizes radio
telecommunication to report potentially unsafe, suspicious, or
threatening conditions.
Identifies prohibited items through routine screening of bags, packages, and deliveries and prevents said items from entering property. Conducts routine visual inspections of structures, buildings, carts, and safes to protect company assets during and after business hours.
Responds to reported incidents, assesses the scene, and analyzes the situation using sound judgment all while collecting necessary information to construct a written witness statement.
Assists and directs guests and employees during safety & emergency situations.
Assists during daily operation, peak attendance periods and special events by consistently picking up shifts, overtime, and/or willingly moving to differ.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required:

Administration of CPR and/or First Aid, proper operation of an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). Basic computer proficiency required. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Follow established EHS/JSA guidelines.

Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or GED is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Class D Security License must be obtained within first 90 days of employment (required) and must remain valid throughout employment. Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

EXPERIENCE:

1+ years’ of previous security experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A background check is mandatory, and results must meet Universal Orlando’s background check criteria.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Provide Security services by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, visually inspecting buildings, bags, packages, and deliveries, performing access control and other methods.
