Description

PLUMBING - Certified Tradesworker.

Performs detailed, advanced maintenance and repair work in County buildings. Coordinates the work of other Certified Tradesworkers or Technicians.

**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Essential Functions

Performs tasks within the Plumbing trade

Performs skilled and highly technical building maintenance/repair tasks in adherence with code.

Performs tasks in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, or Masonry trade.

Prepares detailed and accurate list of materials for jobs and projects.

Responds and takes action in emergency situations to prevent potentially hazardous conditions.

Performs cleanup and worksite restoration.

May supervises the work efforts of assigned personnel.

Interacts with engineers and contractors in the performance of maintenance, repairs, and project tasks.

Participates in projects as part of a work team.

Makes technical decisions.

Maintains records and reports as required.

Must follow safety procedures carefully at all times.

Functions independently under administrative direction.

Additional Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree and six (6) years of experience. Five (5) years of experience in the plumbing trade.

Preference will be given to applicants who are licensed plumbers.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Five (5) years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete work, minor electrical, masonry, and general building maintenance. Trade Journeyman’s License desired, if applicable.

Ability to perform mathematical computations.

Ability to carry out written or oral instructions.

Ability to operate various tools, both manual and power.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Familiarity with automated office systems (Word, Excel, CMMS, etc.).

Ability to read basic blueprints.

Ability to use or repair small, medium, and heavy equipment and machinery.

All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.

Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
