Description

The Nursing Divisional Leader (NDL) shall oversee and manage the processes, procedures, and accreditation of the nursing division they are assigned.

The NDL shall be proficient in accreditation processes, program administration, curriculum design, instruction, simulation, evaluation, NCLEX preparation and remediation resource utilization, Nursing Program Director (NPD) and faculty mentoring. The NDL is responsible for writing the Self-Study Report for the assigned division and developing the curriculum map. The NDL is responsible for creating and implementing the divisional assessment plan. The NDL must possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively meet the needs of students, faculty, and the healthcare community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters in nursing, required, PhD or DNP preferred.

• Current, unrestricted State of Florida or Multi State RN License.

• Academic leadership experience, minimum 2 years.

• Full-time teaching experience, minimum 2 years.

• Full time nursing practice experience, minimum 2 years.

• Familiarity with accreditation processes; preferred experience with ACEN Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the NPD, faculty, Chief Nurse Administrator (CNA), Associate CNA, Deans of Academic Affairs, Campus Presidents (CPs), and Office of Chancellor officials to assure nursing divisional effectiveness.

• Frequent travel to campuses within the division for orienting, mentoring and observing classroom, laboratory, and simulation instruction, with feedback provided to campus leadership and the CNA.

• Prepare a campus visit agenda prior to visiting a campus and meet with the CP upon arrival to the campus and again prior to departure, for a debriefing session.

• Identify trends within the profession to include best practices, industry changes, new technologies, and other significant factors indicative of curricula or course revision/update.

• Maintain accreditation readiness and stay current on accreditation standards and policies.

• Maintain a current master plan of education.

• Maintain a division specific systematic plan of evaluation, reflective of on-going faculty assessment of student learning outcomes and program outcomes.

• Orient and mentor NPDs within their assigned division and provide timely feedback to the individual, the CNA and Campus leadership.

• Participate at monthly campus meetings to ensure consistent implementation of policy and procedures.

• Conduct monthly College of Nursing (CON) committee meetings as committee lead and attend all CON meetings.

• Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional nursing and nursing education professional development.

• Assist the NPD to use the staffing model to proactively identify hiring needs and effective utilization of faculty.

• Assist in clinical site development or innovative solutions. Assist in equitable distribution of clinical resources.

• Assists in background review of students and assures appropriate documentation.

• Nurse administrator of record for ACEN. Responsible for all programmatic accreditation activities.

• Assists in interviews of prospective faculty and participates in orientation.

• Simulation educator, ensuring development of simulation manual and equipment usage.

This is a full time position and will be located at one our campuses in Orlando, Lakeland, or Melbourne. This position will also require traveling to the 3 campuses.
