Job Description & Requirements

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. Limited remote opportunities may be available within specific departments. You’ll learn more about this during the recruitment process.

JOB SUMMARY:

Manages personnel and resources necessary to maintain landscaped areas common to the resort area development including waterways, roadways, and parking structures. Oversees specialized trades of irrigation, pest control and arboriculture for entire resort including Parks and City Walk.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops work scopes for resort landscape crews; including timing, frequency, and expected results.
Provides direct leadership to irrigation lead and tree pruning lead while providing management direction to supervisors of pest control and general landscape maintenance.
Supports Senior Manager, Horticulture, by providing total department leadership coverage by filling in when needed.
Provides training and resources necessary for team members to achieve skill levels and licenses required to maximize labor efficiency and quality of performance.
Responsible for developing and managing budgets for the outer resort landscape maintenance, and property-wide pest control irrigation and tree pruning.
Supports Landscape project supervisor by providing labor and direction for the installation of new irrigation systems and Park Services wash-down connections.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Associate’s degree (AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Horticulture and/or Landscape Design required.
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Horticulture and/or Landscape Architecture preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

7-10 Years required in a resort/attraction or similar upscale landscape environment
; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified Pest Control Operator’s License preferred.
