General Description of Duties

Please be advised that the Bonds and Dockets Specialist position is required to perform the essential functions of the
position within the secure confines of the jail.

**Position subject to close at any time**

Please Note: This position is eligible for Night Shift Differential Pay

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform moderate to complex tasks which include information
collection, review, entry, and verification in support of law enforcement activities. Employees in this classification interact
with law enforcement personnel, arrestees, correctional staff, courts and the public to process the intake and release of
inmates in a somewhat fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions

The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this
classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not
preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.
Process the intake and bond release of inmates incarcerated at Osceola County Correction Department.
Reviews arrest paperwork and court documents for accuracy and completeness.
Enters arrest information into the Inmate Management System; receive, execute and process warrants and ROR's.
Review inmate criminal histories to obtain information using FCIC/NCIC.
Receives, verifies and documents cash bonds, surety bonds and purges at the Bond Desk; processes incoming
bonds on in and out of County warrants; documents, files and copies bonds for Courthouse and files; releases bond
copies to appropriate Court; notifies local warrants section on bond information.
Works closely with the judicial system and disseminates inmate information to various parts of the criminal justice
system to include the Courthouse and the Clerk of Courts.
Performs a wide variety of routine administrative support work in inmate records, general bond procedural
processing, and interaction with Court and Corrections personnel.
Receives telephone inquiries and concerns about inmates from the public, ascertaining the nature of the call, and
resolving personally, or directing it to the appropriate individual or division, or acting as liaison to the assigned
supervisor.
Performs a wide variety of records maintenance tasks for incoming and outgoing inmates, e.g., files check for
accuracy; enter and update inmate information in the automated jail management system; communicates with other
agencies to provide and/or confirm information via teletype; processing inmate documents.
Prepares and processes inactive files; purge files and pulls for storage.
Inventory equipment and supplies, and initiate requisitions for needed repair and/or additional supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in customer service or law enforcement administrative support functions to include
a minimum of one (1) year data entry experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or
experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Miscellaneous: Must pass a typing test at 30 wpm. Must be able to obtain FCIC/NCIC certification within thirty (30) days of
employment. Must possess and maintain a valid FL Drivers License.

Preference: Criminal Justice experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to learn a wide variety of Corrections administrative operations, policies and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment; considerable knowledge of support functions;
ability to organize, inventory, and maintain records.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in
writing.
Ability to work under pressure and/or with frequent interruptions; skill in using good judgment, discretion and
confidentiality in the performance of duties.
Ability to deal with people in a variety of changing and complex situations; ability to deal tactfully and cordially with a
variety of people from different cultural backgrounds.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with all levels of management, employees, other
departments, officials and the general public; skill in the principles and techniques of customer service skills.
Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.
Ability to operate basic office equipment e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems,
facsimile machines.
Ability to read, update and maintain various records and files; knowledge of administrative support functions, e.g.,
records maintenance, data analysis, reports processing, documentation proofing.
Must be able to type 30 wpm.
Must be able to work all shifts and overtime as required.

PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demand: Sedentary
10 pounds maximum lifting.
Occasional (up to 1/3 of the work time) lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
Some occasional walking or standing may be required.
Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken work or perceiving sound by ear.
Good eye sight for production or safety of self and others.
